Watermelon Juice - Caity
Nothing says "August" more than watermelon! Lately I swear I've been drinking more watermelon juice than water. It's so sweet and refreshing! Try making this for your next BBQ or dinner to celebrate the end of summer.

what you'll need:
1 large seedless watermelon
Simple syrup (boil 1 cup water and stir in 1 cup sugar) to taste
Begin by halving your watermelon and removing the rind.
Slice the watermelon into large chunks. Remove any visible black seeds.
Put watermelon slices into the blender and blend until smooth. I did this in several batches.
Strain juice through a mesh strainer to remove the majority of the pulp. Use a spoon to stir it around if it stops straining.
Add simple syrup to taste. Enjoy cold and serve over ice!
